While his ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis spent the holidays with their children, Ravenel rang in the new year with his former lover, Ashely Jacobs. The disgraced Southern Charm star snapped a photo with Jacobs over New Year’s Eve and shared it on his private Instagram account. Despite breaking up last summer, the two appeared more than happy in the pic.
“Reconnected briefly with an old friend on auld Lang syne!” Ravenel wrote alongside the pic.
There is obviously nothing wrong with catching up with an ex-girlfriend, but the situation is a little more complicated for Ravenel and Jacobs.

According to The Hollywood Gossip, the pair had a contentious breakup that bled over to social media. As fans will recall, Ravenel slammed Jacobs online for treating Dennis poorly on the show and vowed to cut her completely out of his life.
The social media feud came weeks after the two separated. Ravenel was also dealing with charges of sexual assault, which resulted in his firing from Southern Charm.
Despite their nasty split, Jacobs recently opened up about her relationship with Ravenel and actually said a few nice things about him. Taking to Instagram, Jacobs admitted that they had more good times than bad and that fate brought them together, even if the romance only lasted a short time.

Although Ravenel and Jacobs got together over New Year’s Eve, it does not sound like they are rekindling their romance. Based on the photo, it looks like they just had a chance meeting at a party and just did a little catching up.
Given how things ended – and all of the ups and downs they faced while they were together – we can only hope that they go their separate ways. After all, Ravenel has plenty of things to worry about with his upcoming court date.
