Christopher Reid is an American actor, comedian, hip hop mc, and rapper, also known as Kid and Kid Coolout. He was a member of duo Kid ‘n Play, with Christopher Martin. Kid was known for his hi-top fade hairstyle, which was common for young black males of that time. His hair stood as high as 6 inches at its peak. He starred in the House Party films and Class Act.
His father, Calvin Noel Reid, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to the U.S. in 1948. Christopher’s mother was white, of Irish descent, and tragically died when he was nine years old. He then went to live with his father.
Christopher’s paternal grandfather was named Clifford Henderson Reid.
Christopher’s paternal grandmother was named Gladys Graham.
