Chrissie Swan has opened up about her weight loss, thought to be as much as 90kg, revealing the habit that she took up during lockdown to overhaul her health.
The radio host revealed she had made “enormous” changes last year that saw her overhaul her lifestyle.
This included quitting alcohol and hitting the pavement for long walks, she told The Australian Women’s Weekly.
“We couldn’t go out to dinner, we couldn’t go to a friend’s house, they couldn’t come to us, we couldn’t go outside five kilometres. All we could do was walk, and so that’s what I did,” Swan said.
While the 48-year-old was open about her passion for walking, she declined to share other details of how she lost weight.
“I’m not going to talk about the size of my a**e. I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself,” Swan said.
Swan regularly documents her walks on Instagram and in August participated in the Fred Hollows Foundation initiative, Fred’s Big Run.
The fundraiser sees participants vow to walk 150km in the space of a month — something Swan achieved in just two weeks.
Earlier this month Swan posted a selfie wearing a burgundy activewear set after completing a 10km walk.
Swan is not the only celebrity to credit her weight loss to walking, with Rebel Wilson saying the low impact movement had been crucial to her health overhaul.
Last October Swan revealed on The Project why she had given up drinking after noticing her anxiety was “through the roof”.
“I haven’t had a drink in about nine months,” she said.

“I do recommend it. If you’re thinking, ‘oh, maybe I’m drinking a bit much’ or ‘it’s not helping me any more’, I think that’s the biggest thing I’ve taken from it, is that it didn’t help.”
Prior to quitting Swan had also been struggling with her sleep and had noticed changes to her overall health since.
“I really noticed a huge difference in my day-to-day positivity and ability to deal with the pandemic and the ongoing changes to literally every part of our lives if I’m clear minded and for me it’s been fantastic, a fantastic choice,” she said.
