Rumors have been floating around online that Cardi B is set to make a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl alongside Maroon 5. However, if you are looking forward to that, it’s better not to have any expectations since it looks like the female emcee is not planning on standing on that stage after all!

Earlier today, Cardi chatted with ET, and during the interview, the Bodak Yellow rapper shut down all the rumors that she will be joining Maroon 5 for a Girls Like You performance at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Amid the controversy around the NFL, Cardi made it very clear that ‘It wouldn’t be the perfect time. I stand for what I stand, you know what I’m saying? I’m doing other things because they like to make money out of us. Why not make a bit of money out of them? I cannot push my limits.’

Cardi went on to explain that ‘My soul wouldn’t feel right [to perform at the Super Bowl]. But I know that me and Maroon 5 have a lot of performances coming. That song means so much to me.’

But even though she will not be at the halftime show, Cardi is still going to be part of the Super Bowl somehow since she is featured in a Pepsi commercial with Lil Jon and Steve Carell.

During the interview, the rapper revealed that she did not get to meet the Office star in person while shooting the add, even though the spot makes it look like all three celebs are dining together.

‘That is the power of editing. And, you know, being a good actor and actress. I’m an actress now!’ Cardi gushed.
