Ariana DeBose made history last night as the first openly queer woman of color to win an Oscar. She spoke about that in her speech, saying “To anybody who has ever questioned your identity… I promise you this, there is indeed a place for us.” Ariana’s Oscar look was a crimson wide-legged Valentino pantsuit complete with a crop top and long shrug. She switched to a little black dress with a bow on the back for the after parties. This is a kicky dress that’s perfect for the occasion. I saw video on her Instagram stories of her dancing afterwards and it looked like she was having so much fun.
Ariana went to the VF After Party with her partner, costume designer Sue Makkoo. Hollywood Life has more about Sue and how they met.
Regina Hall switched into this yellow tiered ruffled and gathered mini dress. It’s giving me shades of Caitriona Balfe’s Louis Vuitton Oscar dress. She looks so happy though and that’s elevating the look. It’s also cuter from the side.
Amy Schumer was in a custom white Chloe dress designed by Gabriela Hearst. It has a leather bodice that looks like it’s squishing her girls.
Wanda Sykes and her wife Alex were cute and matchy in black! Wanda needs to host all the things she is one of my favorite comedians.

Rosie Perez was one of my best dressed at the Oscars in a red formfitting Christian Siriano gown. She vamped it up afterwards in this pantsuit with a bustier and little tuxedo jacket. I love it.
